'You will be sacked tomorrow' van Gaal tells journalist
Manchester United manager Luis Van Gaal
The reporter asked the Manchester United boss if the Red Devils' improved performances might prevent his employers from looking elsewhere
Louis van Gaal lost his cool with a journalist during Manchester United's 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Sunday. Diego Costa's late leveller ensured the spoils would be shared at Stamford Bridge following Jesse Lingard's stunning turn and shot earlier in the second half. Despite not coming away with the victory, Van Gaal called his side's display 'sparkling' as their pickup in form continued.
The Dutchman was asked if he thought the improved performances were important to convince the owners he still has a lot to offer 'while they are trying to replace' him. Van Gaal did not take to it kindly.
"I don't answer this question and I shall repeat myself every week. "I have to say that you are getting the sack tomorrow. What is your name? Then I can announce the name also.
"Look at your wife - maybe you have children, or a nephew or something like that."
